General Music:

Welcome to Music!  

I am excited for this year! We will be learning how to count Weekly Rhythms, play instruments, sing, dance, play musical games and study a Composer of the Month based on different heritage months. Each month we will be using the composer's music to work on playing notes, rests, steady beats, dynamics and tempos. This Fall I will have ULM teaching candidates participating in our music classes as they learn what it means to be an Elementary music teacher. They will work with mostly 6th grade classes during their time with us.

Tiger Choir (5th & 6th Grade):

All Yellow Tiger Choir Contracts due September 4th. 

We will begin after Labor Day!

* This year we will be learning how to sight read music by using solfege.

* There will be an opportunity for students to audtion for different Honor Choirs and information for those will go home in a letter as they become available.

* We will have a Winter/Christmas Concert at school and occasionally we are invited to sing at other events in town. 

* Will will go to the S.C.C. Conctest in March 24 at ULM, exact times will come out closer to the event.
