Hi, I'm Ms. Megan Alloway. I'm thrilled to be teaching seventh-grade Language Arts at Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School.
I love teaching and learning, and I hope you will discover that I am a committed educator willing to go above and beyond to give all students in my classroom the best possible learning experience.
My interests: I'm a bookworm and an avid Shakespearean. In my free time, I love to see plays at the Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey or the Theater for a New Audience in NYC. I also practice yoga and enjoy biking and hiking with my family.
My family: I'm a mom too. I'm married to a wonderful husband, who is also an English teacher, and we have a son named Wesley. Ask me to see pictures of him in class; I love to share!
My education: The only thing I love more than being a student is being a teacher. I have an undergraduate degree from Barnard College and a Master's Degree in Secondary English Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. This past year I won a Book Love Foundation Grant, earning $1000 for my classroom library. I've got great new books to share!
Issues I care about: I am passionate about equal education for all people. I believe that all students should receive a quality education regardless of economic status, race, first language, or ability. I am equally excited about sharing literature with students and finding new and better ways to read and write effectively. I try my best to deliver quality education every day.
Believe it or not, I was once a middle school student! This is my school picture from eighth grade.
