Welcome to our 2023-2024 school year! I am Ms. Kimberly Phillips, the 6th grade ELA teacher at Jefferson Upper Elementary School. This is my seventh year teaching with my Jefferson family, and I am expecting it will be the best one yet. The faculty and staff of Thomas Jefferson Upper Elementary pledge to provide learning opportunities that will prepare all students to become successful learners.
We will reading several texts this year, including an informative book about the studies of Stonehenge, and two novels. The first novel is Hatchet, an engaging story of the survival of a young boy who's crashed in the Canadian wilderness, and the other a novel in prose about the Dust Bowl of the 1930s.
