Dear Wonderful All-Star,

We would like to officially welcome you to third grade!  This year you are fortunate enough to have two homeroom teachers: Mrs. Berrien and Ms. Coyle, and we cannot wait to meet you!  As some of you may already know, we are former fifth grade teachers.  To help us prepare for this new transition, we have been spending many days in our new classroom getting it ready for your arrival.  We cannot wait for you to join us to make our new room truly feel like "home"!

You will have every opportunity to shine this year in Stony Brook.  Third grade may seem busy and challenging at times, but don't worry -- we will navigate this year together!  It will be filled with fun projects, field trips, and many opportunities to grow and learn.  We will talk more about our class assignments and schedule on our first day together.

To help you prepare for the school year, we have included a list of supplies needed for third grade.  Please do your best to have these materials for the first day of school. There will also be other supplies here for you once we meet.

We look forward to sharing more with you during our first few days together, as well as learning more about you!  We will have a fantastic time this year, and you will have plenty of opportunities to create many new memories with your Stony Brook friends!

Our first day of school is Thursday, September 5th.  This is a full day, so please remember to bring in a snack, as well as a lunch or lunch money.  If you have any questions or simply want to say "hello", please don't hesitate to email us at jamieberrien@hvrsd.org and amycoyle@hvrsd.org. Enjoy your last few weeks of summer with family and friends.  We look forward to seeing you on the first day of school!

                                                   Wishing you the best,

                                                  Mrs. Berrien & Ms. Coyle
