Dear LES Parents

As we approach the mid mark of the first nine weeks, I want to say how excited I am to work with your child. We are still in the getting to know one another phase. My students are certainly loved by me, but may feel like I'm the 'mean' one because my expectations are really high. I understand the learning process very well, and know the importance of high expectations as well as supporting my students where they need it. Sometimes specific skills will be difficult, or more challenging and it is at this time I will push harder. Our scholars are coming from 2nd grade to 3rd which is an iLEAP testing grade. This makes it imperative that students get plenty rest, come to school every day, and be prepared for teaching and learning. Of course, I work hard to build a little fun in this process. But, beleieve me teaching is "Bell to Bell," that's the only way we can get learning implemented proficiently.

I think each of you for supporting your child with homework assignments. These assisgnments help both the student and teacher because they build on skills and standards that are taught in the classroom. To date I'm working hard at building reading skills, trading comprehension skills, and writing skills. I will be starting a Writing Booth Camp soon and sending paperwork home hoping your student is able to attend. Again, my classroom is an open door please feel free to stop in and participate in our learning!

Educationally Yours
