Welcome Wildcat Parents!

Dear Parent or Guardian,

I am Mosi Jackson and I have the honor of being your child’s English III Honors instructor this school year. I am very excited about working with your child. Although we are in the midst of a global pandemic, I believe that the 2021-2022 school year can be your child’s best year EVER! Your child can achieve academic success over the course of this year through the development of reading and critical thinking skills through a study of literature, developing writing skills, and developing communication skills through various effective strategies found in the common instructional framework. Mastering these skills is essential to your student achieving academic success on their ACT and/or Work Keys assessment(s) that will be given to all 11th grade students this year.

Specific information about our class will be provided in the class syllabus and posted on my webpage. Please review the syllabus and this letter with your child and sign and return the second page of this letter indicating your support of the classroom system. There is also space provided for you to convey pertinent information about your child. I do want to point out that school supplies are required and should be obtained as soon as possible. Class assignments are posted on Google Classroom and grades will be posted on the parent command center for your review.

To ensure your child’s academic success, it is important to maintain a positive parent/teacher relationship. Please know that the lines of communication are always open. I need your reinforcement. I can be contacted at the school 318-387-2932 ext 1425 or via email [email protected]. Feel free to schedule a conference through the office. Also, look for information such as classroom announcements, assignments, and grades on the school webpage found on the Monroe City School Board website (www.mcschools.net).

Please encourage your student to be “Confident to Conquer the Challenge”. They should think positive and know that this is their “Year of Excellence.”

Sincerely,

Ms. Mosi Jackson

English III Honors Teacher
