Meet Mrs. Martin

 I am excited to be your child’s fourth grade teacher this year! I am truly looking forward to a great year and am excited about working with all of you! Let’s start by learning a little bit about me.

I was born in Kittanning, Pa. I have a older brother, Todd and a younger sister Amber. I then attended Johnson and Wales University for Culinary Arts. I had my own catering company for 20 years.

I have been married to my soul mate, Jeff for the past twenty-nine years. I have a son named Justin who is entering into his final year of his master program in Forensic Pshycology.

Twelve years ago, I started coaching Odyssey of the Mind which is one of my passions. It is a creative competition that promotes team work, problem solving, and creativity.

This is my tenth year of teaching. I taught fourth grade for two years and fifth for two years due to my love of Science.  I am excited to be a part of Gateway Elementary for the fifth year and can't wait to work with your students this year.

When I am not busy at school, I like to take long walks and bake.

I love to hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
