August  2024

Dear 4th Grader, Parents, and Guardians,

I hope that you have been relaxing and enjoying your summer break.  As I eagerly prepare for the upcoming school year, I would like to take a moment to introduce myself.  My name is Mrs. Gutwein and this year I will be teaching all of the 4th graders Science and Social Studies.  If you are in my homeroom you will also have me for morning meeting, health, and Genius Hour.

A few things about me - growing up my favorite subjects were science and math.  I love spending time with my family.  We enjoy relaxing by the lake and exploring the great outdoors.  Another way I like to unwind is by reading.  My favorite genre is nonfiction.  I love to learn, especially if it is about the environment or teaching.  Additionally, I enjoy crafting, creating, baking, gardening, traveling, and learning about other cultures.  I can’t wait to hear all about you and your interests.

Our classroom is room 215, it is located towards the end of the blue hallway in the fourth-grade wing.  During the first week of school, we will be doing a lot of fun activities to get to know one another. On the first day of school, we will meet outside by the sheds (the Baker Street side of the building).   You should be there by 8:20 AM.

Parents and Guardians, I look forward to getting to know each one of you and your children, not only as a student but also as an individual.  During the first week of school, the students will be completing a variety of activities to further help me get to know them.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at school [email protected] .  Enjoy the rest of your summer and I look forward to meeting you on September 3rd.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Gutwein
