Welcome to October:
This month is a busy one. We have been learning about fire safety. This month we are emphasizing the character trait of respect.
Homework: We will be sending home a reading envelope with books your child has self selected from class library. They will need to bring the books back to school daily. They will stay at school over the weekends. If you prefer that your child read books at home or online, that is fine too! Each night your child should read 20 minutes and record it on the reading log in the envelope. Thank you!
The school will be having a scholastic book fair the week of Oct. 18. Our class will visit during the school week 2 times, TBD. Once the schedule is determined, I will post on parentsquare.
Our school Halloween parade will be Friday, October 29. We will not be able to have parents in the building due to current restrictions but we intend to have a small snack time after the parade. Since we have no school for the week of Nov. 1, it is important that we keep food times to a minimum so that they do not go to waste or end up thrown out. As we approach the party I will set up a list of needed items in parentsquare.
Reminder: Every Tuesday in October is a day to wear our school colors (blue and gold!)
Every Tuesday we will be going to the library. Please make sure your child has their library book to return on Tuesdays.
