It takes a village to raise up a child.  We are in this together.  We could never do it without YOU!   

   

   I believe in a safe, friendly, and caring classroom environment, where my students feel welcomed and comfortable to come to class and participate in all of the classroom activities.  It is my job as an educator to accomplish the task of creating this type of environment.  In order for my students to feel this, I want to create a classroom setting that allows my students to know that their opinions matter and will be respected.  I will stress to students that our classroom works as a team, where we will build each other up and always lend out a helping hand to others. By having this safe, friendly, and caring environment, students will be able to accept any challenges and build upon their previous knowledge. 

 

   As their teacher, it is my responsibility to make sure all of my students are engaged and proactive in their education.  Students' engagement in education and a love for learning will be heavily emphasized in our classroom.  I want every student to leave our classroom with a passion for continuing his or her education.  A classroom should be an environment that allows a child to excel in all areas of study.  This type of environment is achieved through discussions, interactive activities, group projects, and individual assignments.  It is also achieved through student expression.  Each and every student learns in his or her own way; therefore, it is my responsibility as their teacher to use differentiated instruction to appeal to every student's abilities and learning styles.

 

   Finally, I expect my students to be involved in our classroom, school, and community.  I firmly believe that a classroom and a school should be designed to encourage students to become global citizens who have a love for learning and a love for others.  In other words, students, teachers, administration, and parents should work TOGETHER to create a sense of community.  We are all lifelong learners and therefore, we should become a FAMILY who encourages a life of learning.
