8:30-8:45

Morning Routine

Students put folders and coats away. They answer the question of the day and eat breakfast.

 

8:45-9:00 

Journal

Students respond to daily post by writing a sentence and drawing a picture in their journal.

 

9:00-9:35 

Circle Time

On the rug students partake in large group instruction. They explore as a class the calendar, weather graph, number chart, message of the day, letter of the week, word of the week, and respond to a story. 

 

9:35-10:15 

Language Arts Centers

Students work in homogeneous learning groups to explore current language arts content.

 

10:15-10:55 

Math

Large group and small group mathematics instruction.

 

10:55-11:45 

Lunch

Students wash their hands and walk down to the cafeteria for lunch, which is supervised by the teacher's assistant.

 

11:45-12:30 

Science/Social Studies

Large group and small group science or social studies instruction.

 

 12:30-1:15  

SPECIALS

Monday - Music, Tuesday - Computers, Wednesday - World Language (Spanish), Thursday - Gym (Please have your child wear sneakers) Friday - Art

 

1:15-1:55 

Math Centers

Students work in homogeneous learning groups to explore current math content.

Pack Up

Students pack up backpacks and put on coats.

 

2:15-2:25 

Chapter Book

Students listen to a chapter book from The Magic Tree House series on the rug.

 

2:25-2:30 

Dismissal

Students dismiss from the cafeteria.
