Evaluation
This will consist of quizzes, tests, skill check-offs, random notebook checks, class participation, and daily journals/bellringers.
Journals/Bell Ringers are given daily and are to be completed within the first 10 minutes of class. If a student has an excused absence, they may get the Journal(s)/Bell Ringer(s) topic/question from a class mate. Copying another student’s entire entry is considered cheating. Journals can be randomly spot checked. At interim Journals and Bellringers will be checked for 25 points. Students must write in complete sentences for each entry or it will not be graded.
Tests will be based on lecture notes, homework activities, and will include skill check offs. They will be announced in advance. Any talking while tests/quizzes are out is considered cheating.
Materials needed DAILY
- 3-ring binder – this should be the type that opens or closes to be able to add worksheets and returned work. THIS WILL BE YOUR NOTEBOOK.
- Loose leaf paper, planner, pencils, and/or ONLY blue or black ink pens
Make up Work
Make up work is the STUDENT’S responsibility. Any work not made up within the school’s allotted period will become a zero. Make up skill checks and make up tests must be completed by arranged appointments with Coach Fletcher. Students are responsible for obtaining any worksheets or other materials missed from the teacher.
Attendance
Attendance is VERY important to receive training in skill checks and to practice those skills. As mandated by the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services, students who miss greater than 9 days (excused or unexcused) will NOT be certified. Please make every effort to come to class on time every day.
Classroom Expectations:
All PBS disciplinary and reward policies from the student handbook will be followed.
