Mrs. Riser’s 3rd Grade Class

Hello and welcome to first grade! My name is Nicki Riser and I am a 3rd grade teacher.  I have been teaching for over 10 years.  I am excited and honored to have this opportunity to work with you. I believe teaching stems from teamwork – together we can reach so many new heights and have so many wonderful experiences.

A little bit about me: I attended Louisiana Tech University where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing. I then went to University of Louisiana in Monroe where I received my teaching certification, as well as my Masters in Teaching. I have worked with children in some capacity for over 20 years. I enjoy the enthusiasm and wonder for the world that children possess.

My husband, 2 children, and I enjoy traveling together and exploring places like Chicago, Texas, Arkansas, and Florida. Our repeat favorite is New Orleans where the Audubon Zoo is located and good food is found. Family is very important to us.

I am looking forward to all the fun and memories that the upcoming school year will bring! In 3rd grade, as students learn and grow, we will engage in fun and innovative activities that align with Common Core standards. 

My classroom is set up to promote safety, academic growth, and positive outcomes. I feel every child is a learner and grows at his or her own individual pace. Our classroom will foster that learning environment.
