All About Ms. Shannon! 

 

Hi Parents! Since some of you are new to my class, I thought I would give you a little info about me!

 

I started working in Bridgewater in July 2015, but I have been teaching preschool for longer than that! I received my Masters in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, with a degree in Intellectual Disabilities/Autism and Early Childhood Education. I am dual certified in both general and special education, but I much prefer special education! Prior to coming to Bridgewater, I taught preschool ABA classrooms in Brooklyn and the Bronx. When my husband and I bought our house in New Jersey, I was lucky enough to find the perfect position in Bridgewater!

 

I have been working with children with disabilities for more than 10 years, and I love it! Teaching is definitely my passion, and I hope that shows when I'm working with your children. Please know that I will always celebrate all of your child's victories, no matter how small they may seem. I especially love working with preschoolers because I can see such a change from the day they step into my classroom to the day that they leave. I am so excited that I have this opportunity to work WITH you as we navigate your child's educational program and progress. We are a team in your child's education - you can always come to be with questions or suggestions!
