 Welcome to our class website!

Getting ready for Kindergarten is an exciting time for all! If you are starting "Back to School" shopping or getting ready for school, I hope the following information will assist in preparing your child for September:

1. Backpack- big enough to fit a folder and lunch box (if bringing lunch!)

2. Lunch box- If bringing lunch from home, practice opening/closing independently (including any thermos or Bento style containers).  There are "helpers" who circulate the cafeteria to assist, but a little practice with this can be helpful.

3. Snack Bag- any kind of bag (paper or reusable) to be used for snack in the classroom. This should be kept SEPARATE from the lunch box to avoid confusion.

4.T-shirt to be used as an Art smock. An adult size works well since it's big and easy to get on/off from over clothes. You can practice doing this with your child so they are "experts" at it when it's time to go to Art class. :)

5.Headphones- wired "over the head" style headphones to be used in the classroom. Wireless/bluetooth are NOT compatible.

6.Setting up a quiet space at home to complete homework would be a great idea! Homework is assigned Monday-Thursday night. Please keep the following materials on hand to complete homework: pencil, eraser, kid's scissors, glue stick, and crayons.

*There is no need to send in any school supplies. We have everything we need in class, including folders, notebooks, and pencil boxes.

*A blue "Arleth School" folder and lanyard will be provided to every student at orientation. These are two things that must come back and forth to school every day.

Please let me know if you need a replacement and I will send you an order form.

School Security-  Please be aware that all visits to the school must be arranged in advance. All visitors must use Door #6 at the front of the school. Visitors will be screened before entering the building and must show photo ID. Visitors are encouraged to leave bags in car or at home. However, if bags are brought to school, they will be scanned.

Birthdays- Invitations to parties can be handed out in school if either all girls/all boys or the entire class is invited. No exceptions.  A small trinket may be distributed to the class in celebration of a student's birthday (pencil, bubbles, bracelet, etc). However, due to district policy no food of any kind can be brought in. This includes candy/treats in goody bags.

Food- We are not permitted to hand out food/candy or treats of any kind due to allergies and the district nutrition policy. This includes birthdays and Holidays.

If you need to drop something off, there is a box located outside the front door (Door #6). Please call the main office to let them know #(732) 525-5245.
