Dear All-Star Friend,

 

Welcome to Kindergarten at Stony Brook Elementary School! My name is Mrs. Dunn, and I will be your teacher this year. I hope that you have enjoyed a fun-filled summer.

 

I am so happy to have you in my class! I have been working in my classroom, getting it ready for you. There is a cubby with your name on it, waiting for your backpack, a special desk for you, and I can’t wait to show you around! 

 

You will learn to read, write and count, play on the playground, sing songs together as a class and in Music, create projects in our classroom and in Art, learn about fitness in Gym, choose books in Library, become scientists in STEAM and begin to learn Spanish. Our special year will be filled with learning, laughing and sharing as we make new friends and work together as a team. You will discover how to become an All-Star Student and be the best you can be.

 

I hope that you and your parents will come to the Kindergarten Orientation on Tuesday, August 25 to visit your new classroom and learn about all of the interesting and fun activities I have planned for you this year!I am looking forward to meeting you, and I am very excited for our year together!
