Welcome to Mrs. Boley’s Science and Social Studies Class

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to educate each child to his/her ever increasing maximum academic and social needs.

Dear Parents,

Hello! My name is Mrs. Kirsten Boley and I will be your child Science and Social Studies teacher this year. I hope you are ready for our "New Normal" whether your child is learning in a virtual environment or face to face setting. Please know, each student will receive the same quality of instructions rather there physical present or learning from home. So this year.... I vow to do everything in my power to get to know your child as deeply as I can as a person and a learner. I vow to to never let your child see my fear or anxiety. I vow to give every child every opportunity to learn the foundational skills in Science and Social Studies and more. I vow to take care of your child as a Whole child, not just a learner. I vow to be flexible, go with the flow, and pivot when things dont work. I vow to assume positive intent of my leaders, my teammates, your child and you, knowing that we're all part of the same team and want whats best for kids. In turn..... I ask that you extend grace and patience. I ask that you also assume postive intent. I ask that you remember that this is not our fault or our choice. I ask that you remember that we're ALL new to this. I ask that you communicate openly to me. I ask that you trust me.

Every student will receive or have access to the "Week at a Glance" on Monday in our Google Classroom. The "Week at a Glance" will include weekly everything in every subjects.

Ways to help your child become great Scientists and Historians

To be the greatest needs some assistants – and that’s you!  Staying involved in your child’s education is the key to a successful year.  Engage your child in a conversation about his or her day, but know that children won’t always give out much information.  Most importantly, READ to your child.  I can’t stress it enough.  READ, READ, READ and READ!!  It is known that reading aloud to children increases their reading skills a great deal.  Try to read to your child every night and have him/her read to you as well.
