TEACHER INFORMATION:

Welcome! I have a Bachelors of Science degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from Louisiana Tech University.  I have been teaching Algebra I for the past 10 years in Rapides Parish, St Tammany Parish and Morehouse Parish.  I look forward to working with you to make this a successful year.  Please email me if you have any questions or concerns.  The following is some basic information about the class.

Tests:  Prior notice will be given for ALL tests.  A review is normally given the day before every test.

Binders:  The binders will be checked each nine weeks.  Please make sure that you are keeping up with the table of contents.  If you ever need to see mine, just ask.  I will be grading from their table of contents and making sure that they match the page numbers listed.

Homework:  This should be completed in FULL and brought back to class and discuss.  Homework is not checked for accuracy but each problem must be attempted.  Points will be given for completion.  Homework is 100 points.  Each check I will take away 0, 1, or 2 points depending on completion.  If they completed all of their work, 0 points will be removed.  If they complete half of their work, 1 point will be removed.  If they don't complete at least half, 2 points will be removed.

EOC Prep:  As the year progresses, the students will receive EOC Practice worksheets that they must complete.  These assignments will typically be given on Friday and are due the following Friday.  This assignment will be worth 50 points.  These assignments are very important and focus on the skills that will be tested at the end of the school year on EOC.  There will 4 EOC papers per nine weeks.

Bellringers:  Each day, students will complete a number of bellringers.  Each day, these bellringers will be turned in when the timer goes off and will be graded on accuracy.  After the students have turned in their folders, I will then go over the problems and correct any mistakes so that the students don't make those mistakes in the future.

Absences:  Any notes or classwork material that you miss should be gathered from a classmate or from the "Were You Absent" folder.
