Class Rules
- Be Respectful of others in words and actions.
- Do NOT talk while I am talking. Go ahead and assume that you need to hear EVERYTHING I have to say to the class
- Bring your calculator to class every day! I will randomly check!
- Always come to class prepared.

4. Practice good safety habits and keep the room clean.
- If I have any reason to believe you can’t follow this rule, you will not be allowed to enter the lab. An alternate assignment will be provided.
5. Listen to and follow instructions the first time they are given.
Consequences
1st offense – Verbal warning
2nd offense – Conference with student/minor infraction
3rd offense –Double minor infraction/ Call home
4th offense – Conference with parents/Referral
Class Procedures
No opt-out - You are not allowed to opt out of any class work. The only reason you are in my room is to learn Chemistry and if you aren’t doing that, you can’t stay. You are not allowed to sleep in class. If there is an extenuating circumstance, please communicate this to me.
Bell Ringers – You will copy the objectives and write and answer a question every day. You will have a bell ringer quiz every couple of weeks to make sure you are keeping up with them. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to get the ones you miss.
Partners/Groups – I will choose groups/partners & each person will have responsibilities. You must stay in your group for labs/activities.
Make up/Late work – It will be in the folder in the corner above the file cabinet. You are responsible for your own work. I will not remind you. Check the folder during BR time. I do accept late work at a penalty when unexcused. If you are absent and miss a test or deadline, it has to be completed/turned in the day you return!
Bathroom – Go to the bathroom between classes and during break. Please don’t interrupt class to ask to go to the bathroom. You must have a pass to leave the room. Do not ask me to go every day unless you have a note from a doctor!

Major Assessments (Tests) – 40%
Assessed for Accuracy (Quizzes, labs, projects)– 35%
Participation/Completion (Homework, classwork, etc.)– 10%
End of Semester Assessment– 15%
Total – 100%
