Welcome to 8th grade Social Studies!
This year, you will be diving into the history of the major events in the United States from the Age of Jackson to Reconstruction that helped shape the identity of our country. For the second half of the year, we will be taking a deeper look at the Constitution and the fundamental workings of our government and country during a Civics Unit. In addition, you will be exposed to numerous primary sources in order to help promote understanding and point of view from those who had a stake in developing the United States.
Google Classroom will be the primary application used for Social Studies. As long as your Chromebook is charged and ready to go for each class, you will not need additional materials. The classwork tab in Google Classroom will function as folders for each unit. All materials can be accessed online.
