1. Share YOUR love of reading!

2. Read together every day.

3. Find comfortable places to read.

4. Talk about books to help with vocabulary and conversation skills.

5. Visit the library.

6. Provide a special basket or shelf for students to access books.

7. Keep a variety of books handy.

8. Keep books fresh; if possible, rotate books in and out based on themes or holidays or just to pique their interest!

9. Let kids choose their own books.

10. Discuss what you've read and ask questions during/after reading.

11. Encourage re-reading.
