Our classroom rules are simple:

 

      1. Come prepared         l2. Be respectful         3. Do your best everyday

 

Materials

   A dedicated section in a 3 ring binder OR a science folder (for handouts)

   Spiral or bound notebook for science only (for notes and assignments)

   Writing utensil (pen is preferred)

   A metric ruler and calculator will also come in handy

 

Discipline

    We will be working towards creating a safe learning environment that is built on mutual respect. I do want to make you aware of my consequences for inappropriate behavior, but I do not expect to that I will be required to use them often.

 

                Students will receive a verbal warning if they are unable to follow class rules the first time

                A second infraction will result in a phone call home.

                Severely disruptive behavior or violence of any kind will immediately be referred to the administrators. 

 

*Please note - I also like to call home when I see positive behavior and consistent hard work!!

 

Grading

    The student's grade is calculated using a points system in which earned points are divided by possible points. All assignments (journal entries, homework, quizzes, labs, tests) will be assigned a point value that will be clearly communicated. Students who follow rule #3 should have NO PROBLEM!! ;)

 

Absences

    All make up assignments will be found in the "Make Up Work" trays found in the classroom. Worksheets and homework documents will also be posted in the "Documents/Study Guides" link. If a test, quiz or lab is missed, we will work out a time in which the assessment can be made up.
