Welcome to 5th Grade

Dear 5th Graders,

Welcome! I'm so glad that you are here! I hope you had an amazing and safe summer. I can't wait to meet you and start our year together. Fifth grade is one of my favorites, and I'm so lucky to share it with you!

This year comes with so many exciting privileges like switching classes and having lockers. I will be your Homeroom and Language Arts teacher, and Ms. Gomez will be your Math, Science, and Social Studies teacher! You will also get to work with Mrs. Ayres and Mrs. Van Name this year! One thing you will learn right away about me is that my classroom library is one of my favorite places! I can't wait to share some amazing books with you!

All of your school supplies will be ready for you in our classroom on the first day of school, Thursday, September 7th. However, don't forget a healthy snack and a reusable water bottle. If you are like me and love to get everything ready for the beginning of a new school year, here are a few more things to consider. You are welcome to bring in some pictures or magnets for the inside of your locker, but just remember that everything must be removable. You might also consider a drawstring or tote bag to carry your belongings between classes in addition to your backpack. Lastly, all 5th graders will need a set of inexpensive headphones or earbuds to keep at school, but don't worry about having those ready for the first day.

I hope you enjoy your last few days of summer. Don't forget that you can visit our classroom at the Bear Tavern Open House on Thursday, August 31st if you want to check it out before school starts! In the meantime, you can also learn a little bit about me here. You can also send me an email at [email protected] to say hello or to let me know if you have a question.

Enjoy the rest of your summer, and I'll see you really soon!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Clark
