During this Marking Period English work will include the following:

 How can we actively engage in our choices, experiences, and perspectives to create our "American Dream".

 Students will know how to read closely to determine what the text says explicitly and make logical inferences and relevant connections from it.
SWBAT cite strong and thorough textual evidence and make relevant connections to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text, including determining where the text leave matters uncertain.
Fiction and nonfiction texts present authentic themes, ideas and experiences that serve as a guide for personal understanding and reflection.
