Welcome to
Course Outline:
-Students will take Driver's Education their sophomore year in high school. The course runs throughout an entire marking period. The objective is to prepare students for the state exam and promote confident, safe and responsible drivers!
Supplies:
-Students will need the following: PEN/PENCIL, HIGHLIGHTER, NJ DRIVER'S MANUAL, AND CHROMEBOOK.
Tests:
-Students will be given a pre-test in the beginning of the course and the Motor Vehicle Commission's Written Knowledge Exam at the end of the course. To earn a passing grade on the state test, students must score an 80% or better. If a student does not pass the exam with an 80% they will have to retake it at the Motor Vehicle Commission.
Project:
-Students will have to come up with a creative Road Safety Slogan and decorate it on a piece of paper which will be supplied by the teacher.
Homework:
-Students will need to study daily from review sheets and NJ Drivers Manual to prepare for the written test.
Class Participation:
-Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions and to ask questions.
Cheating:
-There is absolutely NO tolerance for cheating on the NJ Driving Exam. If you are caught cheating, you will receive a zero and failure for the course.
Cell Phones:
-Students are to keep their cell phones in their bookbags during class. No cell phones are allowed during the simulator part of class.
