A Little More about Mrs. Wanko...
I have been teaching for the last 12 years, 11 of which have been in Berlin Township School District. I am a graduate of The College of New Jersey, earning a Master's Degree in Education. I earned the following certifications: Teacher of Students with Disabilities, Teacher of the Deaf and Harding of Hearing, K-5 General Educator.
My personal special training and coursework over the years have included: learning to teach students with a range of needs and abilities, Orton Gillingham Literacy Training, social-emotional instruction (Zones of Regulation), American Sign Language/deaf education.
I love to learn and try new ideas with our students. I am a creative person who enjoys bringing the classroom to life with hands-on activities and experiences. I love spending time each day getting to know our children and how to help them become successful, independent learners. I adore teaching; it is certainly my passion!
When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my family. We have a busy house with our 3-year-old, Andie, Baby boy Beckett, and 2 silly terriers, Max and Maggie. I love to travel, create and enjoy new experiences.
