Dear Kindergarten Families,
It’s hard to believe that we’ve reached the end of this amazing school year and I am writing my last email to you! As I sit here reflecting, I am overwhelmed with pride thinking about how much your children have grown academically, socially, and in confidence. We’ve built words, solved math puzzles, explored science, made new friends, learned to share, and we’ve smiled and laughed our way through it all.
What a joy it has been to watch them come into the classroom each day with bright eyes and curious minds, ready for adventure. Each one of your children has left such an impression on me, and I will truly miss their hugs, their stories, and their sweet, silly spirits.
I cannot thank YOU, the parents and families, enough for your constant support, encouragement, and partnership this year. This beautiful growth we’ve seen is because of the team we built together.
While I will miss this special group tremendously, I know without a doubt that they are more than ready to take on first grade and beyond. They are brave, kind, capable, and full of potential. I cannot wait to see all they will accomplish in the years ahead.
Please have a wonderful summer. Enjoy every moment of sunshine, popsicles, late bedtimes, and new adventures! I would love it if you sent me pictures of your summer fun... nothing makes me happier than seeing their smiling faces!
I also thank you all for the wonderful cards, gifts and words of affirmation you have sent me over the last week or two. I apologize if all of my thank you notes did not make it into your children's folders. Know that I am so thankful, and I do not want it to go without being mentioned. I'm eternally grateful for your kindness and generosity.
Thank you again for sharing your incredible children with me this year.
Take care & happy summer!
Mrs. Zorella
Dear Kindergarten Family,
Welcome to Kindergarten! The start of kindergarten is an exciting time for you and your child. It is filled with mixed emotions. The first day in a new school is exciting and nerve wracking all at the same time. Please be assured that I, alongside the rest of the Adamsville teachers, will make this school year an enjoyable experience filled with learning. The skills we practice daily in kindergarten are the foundation for your child's success in school and beyond. I invite you to play an active role in your child's education by talking to them each day about their learning, reading to them each night and communicating with us often.
My name is Mrs. Zorella and I am beyond excited to be your child’s teacher this year. Click here to learn a little more about me. The best way to reach me with any questions or concerns you may have is via email:
Mrs. Zorella: [email protected]
If you are able to come to the Kindergarten Open House/ Meet and Greet Your Teachers on September 5th, 1:30pm- 2:30pm for a few minutes, you and your child will be able to tour Adamsville School, locate our classroom (room 207) and meet me as well as many other Adamsville teachers! This may relieve some of the stress and worries your child may feel about the first day of school.
IMPORTANT: Please fill out the First Day of School/ Rest of the Year Transportation Home Form as soon as possible. This will let me know definitively how your child will get HOME from school on the first day of school as well as the remainder of the year. Please note that in my experience, starting the first day of school with your child’s TYPICAL “going home routine” makes the school transition much easier for your child.
Please fill out the Getting to Know Your Child Form at your earliest convenience. There will be a paper copy sent home on the first day of school. Please complete either the paper or digital copy.
Your child will need a backpack for the first day of school. The backpack must be large enough to fit a 9”x12" folder that we will provide. Please also bring a small water bottle to school daily (there is no snack during half day Kindergarten) as well as a clearly labeled extra set of clothes in case of accidents or spill to be kept at school.
Please note that donating supplies to our classroom is OPTIONAL and never mandatory. Below is a list of optional school supplies that you can purchase to be used and shared with all of our students at school. Please be assured that each child will be provided with all supplies needed.
-
Elmer's Glue Sticks
-
Hand sanitizer
-
Kleenex brand SOFT tissues
Additionally, please print out the First Day of School name tag I have created for your child to wear on the first day of school. Please fill out the name tag and attach it to your child/ child’s backpack on the first day. Paper copies will be available for your convenience at our Open House on September 5th, 1:30pm- 2:30pm.
IMPORTANT: We do NOThave snack time in Kindergarten due to our very short half day schedule, but we do have time for a quick drink break. Please make sure that your child eats a healthy meal before coming to school each day.
Please make sure to check your email regularly for emails from me and be sure to sign up for the email E-Blast that goes out multiple times a week from the school with a lot of very important information. You can find important information on Adamsville’s Parent Resources Page on Adamsville’s website.
Finally, Click Here for a fun read aloud to read the night before the first day of school!
Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me.
I look forward to getting to know your child this year!
Mrs. Zorella
A note from the Main Office -
Please note that if your child is going to be absent that you must call the School Absence number and/or contact the school through the Absence website:
This can also be found on the Adamsville Absence Reporting Page you can find here.
Also, if there is a change in transportation arrangements, please send in a note specifying what the change will be for a particular day. If you have any questions regarding dismissal please contact the office.
Please note that if you call instead of e-mail, it is necessary for you to send in a note when your child returns to school.
E-mail is encouraged because it serves as both the immediate notification of absence and the written documentation for absence reporting. Either an email or a note is necessary to have the school consider it an “excused” absence for an illness.
