On Target
Kindergarten students should be able to write all of the upper- and lowercase letter and numbers 1-20 by the end od the school year. They shoould be able to write a short paragraph about a topic using sight words and CVC words.
Advanced
For writing practice, have your child answer the 5 W's and H questions on a sheet of paper after reading any passage or book.
Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How.
Students should also be able to tell you the characters, setting, and plot of the story.
They can practice writing a different ending to the story or summarize the story(beginning, middle, and end).
