**25-26 Rental instruments from the Music Den will be delivered to school after Labor Day**

 

At your first group lesson I'll teach you how to assemble your instrument and make a sound.  You'll take it home that day and begin your daily practicing.

 

Group lessons will be 30 min. from either 9:30-10:00, or 10:00-10:30 once per week. Attendance is mandatory and punctuality is expected even if you forget your instrument.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Practicing: 

Please prepare to set aside 10 minutes (or more) every day to practice. 

 

A little bit every day works better than a whole lot in just one day.  Try to practice at the same time every day so it becomes part of your routine.  You'll be amazed at how much progress you can make with only a few minutes of daily practice!

 

   String Players:

We will start out learning the names of all the strings (don't worry, there's only 4 strings) and plucking them with our fingers (pizzicato) for a few lessons, before we start playing with the bow.

 

 

Wind Players:

Our first few lessons will be to learn how to assemble your instruments and make a sound.  That will be your first homework assignment!

 

Percussion: 

We will be working A LOT with metronomes.  Here's an example:

You can get a head start now by tapping a steady beat along with any music you might hear.
