Homework:
Homework will be given on Monday - Thursday. Every Monday, a homework sheet and notebook will be sent home explaining the homework for the week. Please sign the homework sheet every night after the homework is completed. Also, please try to not go ahead and stay on each day.
Folders:
The folders are one of the main sources of communication, so please ensure that you check it every night and help your child keep it organized.
One side will be labeled 'KEEP HOME' and the other side labeled 'RETURN TO SCHOOL' in case documents should remain home or need to be returned back to school.
Report Cards / Parent - Teacher Conferences:
1st Conference will be held in December for ALL PARENTS AND ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY. First report card will be given during this meeting.
2nd Conference will be held in February for students who are not meeting grade level expectaions.
3rd Conference will be held in May as a follow up meeting.

Pick Up / Dismissal / Saftey Concerns:
Your child may only be picked up by someone listed on the dismissal form. If someone else, not listed on the form, comes to pick up your child - they will not be allowed to exit the school. If you need to add someone to the list, please let myself or the main office know and we will provide another form.
Arrival / Dismissal Times:
* full day - 8:40am arrival - 2:45pm dismissal
* 1/2 day with lunch: 8:40am - 1:07 pm dismissal
* 1/2 day w/out lunch: 8:40am - 12:30 pm dismissal
Please make sure children arrive on time and are picked up promptly.
Birthdays:
On the day of a child's birthday, parents may send in loot bags containing small toys or cute schools supplies. The class will sing Happy Birthday and the Birthday Girl / Boy will receive a birthday crown. Also, he /she may bring his / her favorite book to be read during story time!
Unfortunately, CUPCAKES, CAKE, CANDY, CHOCOLATE, ANYTHING CONTAINING NUTS, OR BALLOONS - ARE NOT ALLOWED. Due to high food allergies, parents are not allowed to bring in any food. We are also a NUT - FREE / HEALTHY SCHOOL - so no candy or nut containing products are allowed.
Regarding invitations to birthday parties - if you wish to invite classmates - please either invite all girs, all boys, or the whole class. Otherwise, you may send invitations personally via email or mailed to homes.
Scholastic Book Orders:
Every month new flyers for Scholastic Books are sent home. If you wish to place an order - please use the class code ND4Y9 and our class will receive extra points to order more free books and supplies for our class! You may order directly online or send the money in an envelope with your child's name on the order attached.
Money:
Whenever money is being sent in (lunch, field trips, scholastic, etc.) - please make sure that it is in an envelope with your child's name, my name, and room number to avoid money being lost. Also, please place this envelope INSIDE THE FOLDER.
Velcro Shoes:
If your child does not know how to tie their shoes, please send him / her with velcro shoes in order to avoid any falling or tripping accidents.
