Course Description: Accounting II: Prerequisite: Successful completion of Accounting I.
This course will expand on the material learned in Accounting I. Students will take what they have previously learned about accounting for a service business and apply it to accounting methods for a merchandising business. Each student will learn how to maintain new financial statements and accounts as well as continue to maintain the ones learned in Accounting I. Students will become familiar with the use of Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks. A MUST for college bound students who are thinking about majoring in Accounting.
Accounting III:
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Accounting II.
This course will delve deeper into the analyzing and recording of business transactions, and the presentation of financial statements for a merchandising business. Students will be looking at publicly held corporations and learn how to account for new items like short-term investments, notes receivables, intangible assets, and stockholders equity. Each student will learn how to maintain the new accounts and new financial statements as well as continue to maintain the ones learned in Accounting II. Students will become proficient with the use of Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks. A MUST for college bound students who are planning on majoring in Accounting.
