Expectations: Student Goals:
- All New Jersey first year biology students must successfully complete the course requirements for Biology I in order to graduate high school.
- Remember to social distance
- Maintain cleanliness: wash your hands, clean your desks periodically
- All school policies passed by the Board of Education on Covid-19 apply
- All students must arrive on time to class
- Cell phones: away and on silent. Please refrain from being on your phone at all.
- Be quietly seated and prepared with all necessary material at the start of class.
- Respect the people, equipment, all teachers and the property of Brick High School.
- Please speak at a volume appropriate for the activity.
- NO F Bombs or any other profanity
- Listen attentively to directions and respond the first time directions are given.
- DO NOT eat or drink in the lab classroom. State Health Department regulation.
- Your behavior must reflect the contents of the student handbook.
- All work assigned must be handed in at the end of class or you will receive a zero for the day and will be unable to make it up!!

- DON’T BE LAZY AND OR TAKE THE EASY WAY OUT OF ASSIGNMENTS
- Parental/ Guardian Responsibilities:
- Ensure my student has all the supplies he or she needs.
- Ask my student about school and look at their work.
- Contact my student’s teacher if I have any questions or concerns.
- Provide a positive learning environment where education is encouraged.
Ø Assignments & Projects:
- All in class or virtual assignments will be handed in on time and will be completed accurately.
- Late work will be accepted for half credit for up to one day. After that NO LATE work will be accepted.
- If you are absent it is your responsibility to make up any missed assignments. A VALID excuse note must be presented within 2 days upon return
- If absence results in a missed test or quiz, you are responsible and expected to make it up. Tests that are not made up within 1 week you will receive a “0” for a grade.

- Summative Assessments: 60%
- Formative Assessments: 40%
Ø Materials
- Textbook, notebook or 3 ring binder, folder, pen/ pencil, colored pencils
- Text book must be covered at all time. Books left in the classroom are your responsibility!!
