Dear Kindergarten Parents/Guardians

We are so excited to meet and get to know your little ones! Here are some things we wanted to share with you before school starts on August 28th:

  • School Supplies- Please visit pohatcong.org and click “School Supply Lists” to see our recommended school supply list for kindergarten. We ask that you please place all of the supplies in a large ziplock bag, labeled with your child’s first and last name, and send them in at any point during the first week of school. If your means permit, both classrooms can always use donations of soft tissues, Clorox/Lysol wipes and spray, and Ziplock baggies.

  • Snack & Water- We will enjoy a small snack each day in the afternoon. Please send in snacks, labeled and in a separate container/bag from packed lunches, that are free of peanuts and tree nuts until we have a full list of class allergies. Furthermore, please ensure that your child can open packages and lids independently. We encourage you to send in a reusable water bottle (labeled with their name) every day-no sports drinks or juice boxes for snack time, please.

  • Lunch- Free lunch will be available to all students through the end of this school year. The school is still recommending families who feel they would qualify for free/reduced lunch pricing to fill out the forms should free lunch become no longer available. More information on these forms to come.

  • Communication- The best way to get in touch with either kindergarten teacher is going to be using the Class Dojo app. Messaging a teacher on that app is similar to texting, as the teacher will get instant alerts during the hours of 8am- 4pm. Please see the enclosed sheet and download this free app on your phone ASAP!  We will be posting photos of the classes, updates, and important information in that app! Email is another way to get ahold of us, our email addresses are [email protected] and [email protected]

  • Clothing- We will be doing lots of painting and hands-on activities, so please do not send your child into school with fancy clothing. If you have any questions about the dress code, please see the student handbook.
