Welcome to Second Grade!
My name is Dani Martorana and I am a second grade teacher here at HCS . I am a graduate of Rowan University. It is an exciting year here at Hopewell. We will be working with Journey's and Go Math. These programs are awesome and are aligned with the Common Core. We will also be working with the Fountas & Pinnell leveling system to learn each students individual reading needs.

What are we learning right now?
Language Arts: We are focusing on short vowels, and will soon learn how to write a friendly letter!
Math: We are reviewing basic addition strategies
Science: We have Monarch Butterflies in our classroom! We are learning about the anatomy & life cycle of a butterfly. Soon, we will have painted lady butterflies that we will be studying as well!
