Welcome to Ms. Ortega's Class!!!
I am very enthusiastic about being your Reading and Writing teacher during this school year and look forward to working collaboratively with parents and/or guardians to ensure that students' educational needs are met. My goal is to reinforce and develop an appreciation of communication arts through experiences in reading, speaking, listening and writing. I anticipate an exciting, yet challenging and productive school year in which students will be exposed to a variety of literature, informational texts, and writing prompts. All students will have multiple opportunities to excel in and out of the classroom. I encourage students to participate actively in class and to ask questions. Any major test or assignment will be given notice well in advance on my website and in the classroom. I also highly encourage parents to take their child to the West New York Public Library so that he/she can become familiar with it and to get a library card that will enable him/her to borrow books. For your convenience, it is located at 425 60th St, West New York, NJ 07093.

Estoy muy entusiasmada de ser su profesora de Lectura y Escritura durante este año escolar y de trabajar en colaboración con los padres para asegurar que se cumplan las necesidades educativas de los estudiantes. Mi objetivo es reforzar y desarrollar una apreciación del arte de la comunicación a través de experiencias de lectura, hablar, escuchar y escribir. Anticipo un año escolar emocionante, pero desafiante y productivo en el que los estudiantes estarán expuestos a una variedad de literatura, textos informativos y ensayos de escritura. Todos los estudiantes tendrán múltiples oportunidades para sobresalir dentro y fuera de la clase. Animo a los estudiantes a participar activamente en las clases y para hacer preguntas. Le daré aviso de cualquier examen, proyecto, o trabajo importante con suficiente tiempo de anticipación en mi sitio web y en la clase. Tambien sugiero que los padres lleven a su hijo/a a la Biblioteca Publica de West New York para que el/ella se familiarize con la biblioteca y pueda obtener gratis una tarjeta de la biblioteca para que puedan retirar libros.
