ESL PHILOSOPHY...
ESL instruction addresses both conversational language skills and skills related to literacy and academic achievement. Learning a second language is developmental in nature. Acquiring these skills in a second language may take three to six years for most students.
The ESL Program provides students with varied and meaningful experiences, materials, activities, and opportunties to enable them to function in a new culture. These experiences, instruction, and opportunties help foster appreciation of the English language and American culture so that ESL students will not only survive, but thrive and reach their full potential.
