"Teachers have three loves:

love of learning,

love of learners,

and the love of bringing the first two loves together."

Scott Hayde

My name is Shannon Bernard, and I am Parks Primary's Special Education Resource Teacher (Grades 2nd-4th).  I am a graduate from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  I have a certification and am highly qualified to teach in the following areas:  Special Education (Mild to Moderate Grades 1st-12th) and General Elementary Education (1st-5th).  I am married to Eric Bernard, and I have two children:  Noah (18) and Ashtyn (12) as well as our fur-pups Charlotte and Lucy.  I enjoy spending time with family, reading inspirational books, and participating in outside activities. This year will mark the 12th year of teaching at Parks Primary. I was voted Teacher of the Year at Parks Primary in 2019. Teaching is everything to me, and it is my goal to share the JOY of learning with students so that in turn, a love for learning is inspired.

All students are gifted in their own unique way, and it is an honor to support students in finding their individual gifts, learning styles, and abilities.  By gaining this knowledge, students' confidence will soar as their successful learning experiences are brought to a whole new level...it is truly inspirational to be a part of the process.

In closing, I would like to thank you for allowing me to teach your child this school year.  I look forward to partnering with you so that we may work together in creating a very successful and joyful year for your child!
