"Teachers have three loves:
love of learning,
love of learners,
and the love of bringing the first two loves together."
My name is Shannon Bernard, and I am Parks Primary's Special Education Resource Teacher (Grades 3rd & 4th). I am a graduate from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and I have a teaching certification in both Special and Regular Elementary Education. Teaching is my passion, and it is my goal to share the JOY of learning with students so that in turn, a love for learning is inspired. All students are gifted in their own unique way, and it is an honor to support students in finding their individual gifts, learning styles, and abilities. By gaining this knowledge, students' confidence soar as their successful learning experiences are brought to a whole new level...it is truly inspritational to be a part of the process.
I will be teaching a first grade reading class this school year as well! It is a delight to help build strong foundational skills that will help create a life-long love for reading and learning. Please refer to the Reading page for additional information regarding the Reading Class. Thank you.
In closing, I would like to thank you for allowing me to teach your child this school year. I look forward to partnering with you so that we may work together in creating a very successful and joyful year for your child!
