Welcome to a new and exciting school year!! Pre-K is an exciting time filled with both curiosity and learning. That is exactly why our classroom mascot is Curious George. During the year, your child will learn shapes, colors, numbers, alphabets, and more. Here are some very important suggestions to help.

  1. Make sure that your child arrives at school before the bell rings at 7:45 AM every day. Arriving at school on time will help your child to adjust to school routines.
  2. If there are any changes dealing with transportation throughout the year, please place a detailed note in your child’s folder on the morning that the change occurs. If it is a last minute change and you were unable to write a note, please notify the office so they can inform me of the change.
  3. Sign and return any forms that require signatures.
  4. Put all money into an envelope or ziploc bag and place it in your child’s folder. Please include your child’s name and a note that describes what you are paying for. We do not check booksacks.
  5. Please turn in all aftercare money directly to aftercare.
  6. Check folders daily for important information. The keep side of your child’s folder holds all papers that you can keep at home. The return to school side holds homework and papers that should be returned to school. Please clean out the keep side of your child’s folder daily.
  7. Initial and return your child’s daily conduct sheet.
  8. Make sure your child has a doctor’s excuse for each absence. It can be placed in your child’s folder and we will turn it in to the office for you.
  9. Please notify me if you know that your child is going to be absent.
  10. Sign up for Remind so that you could receive important reminders throughout the year. My office hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 AM-4:00 PM.
  11. Allow time for your child to adjust to school routines. Pre-K can be tough for students, especially at the beginning of the year. It takes some students time to adjust to being in a school setting.
  12. Set a certain time for homework every afternoon.
  13. Read to your child every night before bedtime.
  14. Finally, encourage your child to try their best and take time to look at your child’s work.

We are so thankful that your child is in our class this year!! We are looking forward to an amazing year!!!
