RULES

 

Abide by all rules described in the Union Avenue Middle School Hand Book

Be on Time, In your floor spot 6 minutes after the late bell
Be Prepared, In a plain White, blue, black, or gray t-shirt (with sleeves) and blue, black or gray gym shorts, sweat pants or track pants, all must be jewelry removed, sneakers and a combination lock for your gym period only

Be Respectful, To yourself, others and the equipment

 

OUR CLASSROOM PROCEDURES

To make our class time safe and productive, follow these basic procedures each day:
    1. Come on time and prepared for class
    2. Class Objective and Activities will be on the chalkboard. Read them and  begin first activity.
    3. Do not interrupt to ask to use the bathroom, this is the only class that you have the opportunity to go at the beginning and end when you change. UNLESS it is an emergency. 
    4. Listen for the Whistle, Once= Be quiet listen for next instruction, Twice= stop, sit down and be quiet.
    5. Each student is responsible for putting  away the materials they used.
    6. I will dismiss you from your floor spots, not the bell or noise in the hallway.

 

Grading Policy

 

A unit is worth 100 points

 

-60% participation

 

-20% skills

 

-20% written test

 

 

*Each time a student is late to class or is late to their floor spot, 2 points will be deducted from their grade.

 

*Each time a student comes unprepared or does not participate 7-12 points will be deducted from their grade.

 

*Each time a student disrupts class, uses profanity, or is willfully disobedient 7-10 points will be deducted from their grade after a verbal warning is given.

When you are unprepared for class you will be given a written assignment to be completed in class in order to earn 7 of the 12 points lost.
