Hello! My name is Mrs. Amores and I am your high school science teacher. I am originally from outside of Pittsburgh, PA. I am married, have two children, a boy and a girl, ages 16 and 13. They both have been playing ice hockey since they were about 5 yrs old....we are a hockey family with everybody in the house rooting for all different NHL teams!
I have earned two degrees; my undergrad degree is from Kean Univesity in Meteorology and my graduate degree is from Augustana University in Special Education. I have also taken various courses at West Virginia Univesity and County College of Essex County. I've been teaching various science courses here at Irvington High School for about 19 years. I do love teaching and I believe that my students will learn the foundations in my science classes that will prepare them for future endeavors.
I also supervise the Environmental Club, here at IHS, which all students are welcome to join. One goal of the club is to learn about growing healthy food that we hope to consume and help the community learn about healthy habits, while also learning about how to protect and keep our environment healthy.
I hope that my students learn a lot from my class while having fun!
