Dear Parents/Guardians,

My name is Ms. Rose Noel and I will be your child's teacher for this school year. I am looking forward to this new school year and creating a new relationship with you and your child.

I graduated from New Jersey City University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. I'm also graduted from Bloomfield College with a Master degree in Teaching Students with Disabilities. I am pursuing a Doctoral degree in Teaching Students with Disabilities. I have eleven years of experience working as a teacher in the Irvington Public School district.

The curriculum that we are using this year is called Creative Curriculum. Students will learn through both literacy and math instruction. They will also learn through play. The classroom is set up with various areas: Art Area, Writing Area, Discovery Area, Manipulatives Area, Library Area, Block Area, Music Area, Cooking Area, Dramatic Play Area, and Sand and Water Area. In each area, students will have the opportunity to learn various subjects such as math, science, and writing skills. Small group time and greeting time are the two sessions of the day that are primarily teacher-directed. During these times the students will learn math concepts such as adding, subtracting, and patterns. They will also complete science experiments and learn how to write letters of the alphabet.

Since many lessons in preschool are hands-on, it is always great to have parents come in to assist us. I encourage all of you to come in and take part in your child's education. You are welcome to read a book to the class, or participate in other school activities.

We need to have a home-school partnership. We all want our children to succeed academically, socially, and intellectually. I look forward to working with each of you.

Sincerely,

Ms. Rose Noel
