Homework is assigned each month.
Students are responsible for bringing a completed homework assignment by month's end that they worked hard on and are proud of.
A homework rubric accompanies a graded homework upon completion.
Color should be added.
Lined paper is prohibited.
A spiral bound sketchbook is preferred or a designated art homework folder with white paper is also acceptable.
Homework must reflect personal style, craftsmanship, and problem solving skills.
Tips to ponder...
Concentrate on COMPOSITION-where objects are placed on the page that is pleasing to the eye, COLOR-Try to use different color combinations that you learned in class to attract your audience and finally FOCAL POINT or CENTER OF INTEREST- What is the most important item that you want the viewer to see?
SEPTEMBER-choose 1
1. Choose a feeling and design an artwork that expresses the feeeling without using the words to give it away.
2. Illustrate a happy or positive memory that makes you smile.
OCTOBER-choose 1
1. Include an animal in your art. Add color.
2. Draw 5 shiny objects that you can find at home, set them up in a composition and draw then shade with pencil only.
NOVEMBER-choose 1
1. Free Choice. Please choose a topic that challenges your art skills or excites you.
2. Focus on Food. Draw your ultimate thanksgiving dinner plate. What would you serve if you were in charge?
DECEMBER-choose 1
1. Design an outfit that you would wear.
2. Design a new school uniform.
