MATES (The Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science)
Location: Manahawkin
Provides: a unique and challenging hands-on learning experience for college bound and career-oriented students interested in pursuing a career int he marine and environmental science; a rigorous academic curriculum with concentration in the areas of math, science and technology to prepare for any college program or career in multiple fields
Cost: free public school for accepted Ocean County students
Transportation: provided by home district, usually students will take a Brick bus to BTHS and then buses will transport them to the academy location
Admissions Information Sessions: TBD

PAA (Performing Arts Academy)
Location: Lakehurst (Naval Base)
Provides: a unique and challenging learning environment for students who are3 gifted in the performing arts., a performing arts curricula focused in dance, vocal music, and acting, along with a rigorous college preparatory academic program; students can go on to colleges for non-arts related majors if they choose
Cost: free public school for accepted Ocean County students
Transportation: provided by home district, usually students will take a Brick bus to BTHS and then buses will transport them to the academy location

APPLICATIONS MUST BE OBTAINED AT AN INFORMATION SESSION. THEY ARE NOT AVAILABLE IN THE GUIDANCE OFFICE.
STUDENTS ARE SELECTED THROUGH A COMPETITIVE APPLICATION PROCESS AND ENTER AT THE 9TH GRADE LEVEL. 75 STUDENTS FROM THE COUNTY WILL BE ACCEPTED EACH YEAR.
