   designed to help low-income families ameet home heating and medically necessary cooling costs, must have gross income at or below 200% Federal Poverty Level and be responsible for cost of heating

   proivdes energy assistance to moderate and fixed-income households experiencing a financial crisis, eligibility based on household size and income, families who no not qualify for Federal/State assistance, grants up to $700 for heating source, up to $300 for electric service

Temporary Relief for Utility Expenses (TRUE)

   one time grant for low to middle income residents struggleing to pay electric and natural gas bill, funds on first come first serve bases, up to $750 towards gas, $750 electric, must be past due on account and service not disconnected, must have made at least 4 payments of $25 in last 6 months, 3 payments must be made 30 days before application, not received LIHEAP or USF in last year, further eligibility  based on family size and income

 

Universal Service Fund (USF)

   automatic for Food Stamp recipients, gross income at or below 175% poverty level and pay more that 3% of annual income for electric or more that 3% for natural gas.  If house has electric heat must spend more that 6% of annual income on electricity to be eligible

   

Weatherization Assitance

   must have gros income below 200% poverty level, will do home energy audit, installation of energy efficient measures to reduce energy bills

 

Winter Termination Program

   November to March, prevents customers who participate in LIHEAP, SSI, TANF from having gas/electric service disconnected, Board of Public Utilities
