Good Morning My VMES Friends
First Grade Friends please follow Mrs. Hernandez's daily lessons.
To the parents of the students who are assigned to me please make the following accommodations and modifications to your child's remote learning plan.
Literacy: I read all questions and answers selections to the students.
I also clarify directions and unknown words with synonyms and examples.
For the writing period I guide students to develop ideas and write their thoughts that they orally express on white boards to assist them with spelling and grammar.
Please also allow for frequent breaks, model reading fluency and provide positive reinforcement for all efforts put forth.
READING: Please log onto Lexia for 20 minutes each day and read the material of your choice for 20 minutes each day as well.
Math: Please Log onto IXL Math and work in diagnostic for 10 minutes and learning for 30 minutes each day.
Second/Third Grade POR Math
Please log onto IXLmath for10 minutes in the diagnostic mode and 20 minutes in recommendations. Also, please have your child log onto Xtramath to practice fact fluency for 10 minutes each day.
In addition, please make the following modifications and accommodations to your child's daily lessons.
Read all directions, questions and answers aloud, as well as, clarifying any misunderstanding he/she may have.
Draw pictures to represent the problem, model the same problem with different numbers and use manipulative's as necessary.
Allow frequent breaks, chunk learning into small blocks and use positive reinforcement.
After reviewing the data I have assigned all students math work to complete on IXL for the week of 3/30/20. Please contact me to assist you in anyway or with any concerns.
