Each day you should have the following materials

with you when you come to class.

Having them in your locker is not having them in class,

so make sure you have everything you need.

1. Folder

  • Please bring ONE single-subject, two-pocket folder with 3 fasteners in the inside middle
  • I'd recommend it to be plastic (as it may be more durable than a paper folder), but that is not required.
  • It can be any color or design you wish!
  • It will stay in class and contain important vocabulary lists and other resources, so you can not share it with another class
  • See the image below for an example
  • E-group students will only need one folder to share between Dr. Martin & Ms. Fernandez and it does not need to have the fasterns

2. Pens and Pencils

  • a blue or black ink pen and/or pencils to complete homework and classwork (required)
  • colored ink pen(s) for annotating and revising work (optional, but recommended)
  • colored pencils (optional-- there are always some in the classroom)
  • Note: It would be useful to have a highlighter as well.

3. Novel and/or IRB (independent reading book)

  • you will need an IRB every day at school
  • I have books you can borrow in the classroom, you can borrow from the school library, or you can get a book on your own.

4. Headphones

  • ONLY wired ones that you can plug into your Chromebook (no airpods or wireless ones) --> but only use them when asked

 5. Charged Chromebook (with charger)

  • make sure your Chromebook is charged enough to last for ALL of ELA
  • yes, you should have your own charger with you

In case you were wondering: you do not need any notebooks or journals (NOTE: this does not apply to E-group students. E-group see note below)

Note for E group students only --> you will also need to check with Dr. Martin on the first day of school about any materials needed in her class.
