All About Mrs.Maycumber
I was born in Atlanta, Georgia and I have lived in Georgia for my entire life. I graduated from Kennesaw State University and earned a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Later, I earned a Master's degree in Reading and Literacy from Walden University. I have also completed my reading and gifted endorsements through the state of Georgia. This is my ninth year teaching fourth grade at Shelton. Before coming to Shelton, I taught first and third grade in Cobb County and was a stay-at-home mom for seven years. I have been married to my husband Scott for 23 years and we have two children. Bryson is 15 years old and is in 10th grade at North Cobb Christian School this year. Bailey is 11 years old and is in 6th grade at Lost Mountain Middle in Cobb County. We love taking family trips to the beach, family game nights and Disney World.
Philosophy of Education:
I believe that each student is unique. It is my goal as an educator to help students reach their highest potential while realizing that students learn, create and express ideas in different ways. By creating a safe and supportive learning environment, I hope to guide, nurture and challenge my students with a love of learning that will last a lifetime.
