Homework & Class Activities

 

My goal is to implement a developmentally appropriate homework routine, where the purpose of the homework is to reinforce (practice) academic skills/concepts that we are currently learning in class. 

 

Once in a while, I will shift the homework to a class project where each student does their individual contribution to a class project.  This is to break the monotony and to keep things interesting for the students in our class.

 

Our class will also abide by certain guidelines/requirements set by our WNY School District administration pertaining to homework.  

 

It is very important for all class parents to join our class'  "Back to School Night"  during the first month of the school year.  In this first and one and only whole class meeting, details about class homework, grades, and other pertinent matters concerning your child's Grade 1 education will be discussed. 

 

Homeworks and other class activities for the week are posted in our class'   Google Classroom -  "Grade 1 Room 214."  This is accessible through each student's school assigned chromebook.
