Children are our future and we believe that every child is capable of developing a love and respect for themselves, others, and their environment. It is our goal as educators to teach children how to be caring and active members of society. As children grow and learn, it is our responsibility to guide them with the “tools” they need to be successful.
In the classroom, we use research-based activities and strategies from Tools of the Mind (www.toolsofthemind.org), which focuses on improving students’ self-regulation. Many preschool students come in to school with very little self-regulation, but throughout the year, they learn to control their learning and behavior. Teachers support them by scaffolding instruction, assisting students with daily tasks and activities until they become more independent and master the ability. By the end of the school year, students have significantly developed their social and cognitive skills and have learned to be more regulated. In addition, we reach out to the families and other members in the community to assist us in reaching our goals.
Communication between the home and school is essential in a child’s education; please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. We would like to thank you for trusting us in being your child’s teacher and for joining us in a team working for the happiness and achievements of our children.
