We need to learn to both read and spell our trick words. They are called trick words as they do not follow the conventional rules of spelling. Practice them often, perhaps using some of these multisensory fun ways!

 

*write in shaving cream or pudding

*write in sand or jello powder in a pan

*write with dry erase marker & erase letter-by-letter with a Qtip

*rainbow write with crayons 

*form letters with play-doh

*form words with legos

*use magnetic letters

*use wikki-stix

*use finger to write letter-by-letter on a partner's back

*fancy write words with markers
